Crime Log: March 17 – March 23

Entry of the week:

Tuesday, March 18, 8 a.m.

Students for Justice in Palestine and other groups supporting them staged an orderly protest on Huntington Avenue near Krentzman Quad, with approximately 250 attendees.

Monday, March 17

8:44 a.m.

A woman from Residence Services reported her parking pass missing from her vehicle. She stated she was not sure if it was stolen or if she threw it out with some trash.

Tuesday, March 18

 9:27 p.m.

A student reported his laptop was stolen from the second floor of Curry Student Center between 5:45 a.m. and 6:10 a.m.

Wednesday, March 19

6:54 a.m.

 A man reported leaving his backpack on the stairs of Curry Student Center while working there, and when he returned his backpack was gone. The bag contained a digital camera.

3:42 p.m.

A former student reported she had been visiting a friend in December, and left her laptop in an adjoining room. Upon her return, the laptop was gone. She informed the Residence Director (RD) in December, but wanted to file a past larceny report.

10:15 p.m.

A Resident Assistant (RA) in Davenport Commons B reported the smell of marijuana. Officers spoke to the student resident, who handed over less than one ounce of marijuana.

10:44 p.m.

A student from Emmanuel College reported her bike was stolen from the front of the Marino Center between 5:45 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. The bike was secured with a U-lock, and is described as a royal blue Schwinn mountain bike valued at $250.

Thursday, March 20

5:58 p.m.

 A student came to Northeastern’s Public Safety Division (NUPD) headquarters and reported her unattended backpack was stolen from the Egan Research Center between 3:30 – 3:35 p.m.

 9:22 p.m.

A Vanguard staff member called operations to report several skateboarders in Renaissance Parking Garage on the 10th level. Officers reported stopping one of the three skateboarders, and advising them not to skate in the garage any more.

Saturday, March 22

 1:22 a.m.

An RA in Smith Hall reported a drunk female vomiting near the front steps. Officers spoke with the female, who was not a student, and found her to be conscious but semi alert. They requested Emergency Medical Services (EMS), who then declined to transport her. She signed a waiver, and stayed the night with a friend.

2:56 a.m.

An RA in Stetson East reported a drunk female vomiting in one of the rooms. Officers spoke to the student, who was conscious and alert. She admitted to being under 21 and having consumed alcohol, but declined medical attention.

1:19 p.m.

Two men were reported in the area of Centennial Commons closest to Shillman Hall asking for money. The men appeared to be under the influence of narcotics. Officers spoke to the men, one of whom had an active warrant for shoplifting. Ryan Buckles was arrested and transported to NUPD headquarters.

8:31 p.m.

A student in the Marino Center reported his unattended cell phone was stolen from Au Bon Pain between 8:25 and 8:29 p.m.

Sunday, March 23

1:57 a.m.

A woman reported her cell phone was taken by a man on Parker Street while she was getting out of a cab. She could not provide a description of the man.

3:16 a.m.

Multiple males were reported for shooting a pellet gun at the intersection of Gainsborough and Hemenway streets. The pellet gun was shot into the glass of a room in Kennedy Hall.
