Mary Whitfill, editor-in-chief

Mary Whitfill has been the editor-in-chief of The Huntington News since April of 2014. She is a junior political science and journalism double major with time management issues. Her first co-op was at MSNBC in New York City and her second with The Patriot Ledger. Previously, Mary served as a staff writer for three semesters and as city editor in the fall of 2013. She is from Dallas, Texas where she still writes for her local paper and served as editor of her high school newspaper.

At Northeastern, Mary was a part of the Jumpstart Americorps program and the Student Government Association her freshman year, but now dedicates all of her energy to The Huntington News. In the future she hopes to write for a major national newspaper covering the White House and American politics. Mary loves pugs, pizza, Star Trek, fan theories and looking at nature (from afar). She is the last Astros fan.

Favorite Journalist: Leonard Pitts.
