Crime Log: Sept. 29-Oct. 5

Monday, Sept. 29

10:32 a.m.
A Northeastern University (NU) student reported to NUPD headquarters that he and his teammates on the men’s cross country team left their shirts outside Cabot Gym while running between 6:40 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. and when they returned the clothing was missing. A report was filed.

5:12 p.m.
A student reported his bicycle was stolen between Saturday and Monday from the bike racks next to International Village East.

7:54 p.m.
The manager of the Wollaston’s in Marino Center reported a man shoplifting from the market. A witness reported the suspect leaving in the direction of Forsyth Street. Officers responded and searched the area but did not find him.The manager stated that the stolen item was valued at $1.29 and was taken and eaten.

Tuesday, Sept. 30

11:25 a.m.
A student reported that her blue and white road bike with a black basket had been stolen from outside her Douglass Park apartment between 10 and 11:15 a.m. that morning. A report was filed.

2:07 p.m.
An NU student reported that his acoustic guitar and case were stolen from an unlocked room in Hayden Hall sometime between Thursday at 1:30 p.m. and Friday at 11 a.m. A report was filed.

4:16 p.m.
A student reported his MacBook Pro laptop was stolen when left unattended in the Curry Student Center. A report was filed.

Wednesday, Oct. 1

8:32 p.m.
Fraudulent Northeastern University purchase orders worth several thousand dollars are being sent out to various companies campus-wide. The incidents are under investigation.

Thursday, Oct. 2

2:47 p.m.
An NU student notified Northeastern University Police Department (NUPD) that there were several high school students about to engage in a fight near 140 The Fenway, by the Edward Michael Kennedy (EMK) School. Teachers appeared to be trying to break up the altercation between both boys and girls. Officers responded and spoke with two juvenile students at the EMK School who had been involved in the altercation with possible former EMK students. Boston Police Department (BPD) and EMS responded. No weapons were involved, but one victim reported her cell phone had been stolen during the fight. A report was filed.

5:29 p.m.
An NUPD officer found new graffiti on the rear wall of Light Hall. A work order was advised and a report was filed.

6:42 p.m.
An NUPD officer found new graffiti on Cushing Hall rear and the door facing Cahners Hall. A work order was advised and a report was filed.

8:20 p.m.
A Resident Assistant (RA) called the police emergency line to report an active fire in a room in Kennedy Hall. Operators advised the RA to activate the nearest pull station. Officers reported a cell phone battery charger caught on fire, and the fire had since gone out, but there was smoke in the area. The Boston Fire Department responded and authorized the fire alarm to be reset. The damage was contained to clothing and the top of a desk. A report was filed.

Friday, Oct. 3

2:35 a.m.
An officer reported someone set a pair of shoes on fire in public alleyway 809. The officer put out the fire using his water extinguisher. There was no damage to the area.

12:23 p.m.
An NU student reported to NUPD headquarters that his black iPhone 5 was stolen from the first floor game room of the Curry Student Center about. A report was filed

Saturday, Oct. 4

12:31 a.m.
An NU student reported his black mountain bike, with a Molson diamond logo on the back, had been stolen from the rack outside the Marino Center between 10 p.m. on Friday and 12:25 a.m. on Saturday. A report was filed.

2:30 a.m.
A student reported her roommate fell in her bathroom in Speare Hall and sliced open her chin. The subject had been drinking and had also vomited earlier in the night. Officers responded and requested EMS for an evaluation. Officers then provided a hospital transport. The Residence Director (RD) on duty was notified and a report was filed.

3:26 a.m.
A student reported loud music coming from the ground floor of 165 Hemenway St. Officers responded and reported speaking with the resident, not with Northeastern, who agreed to send his guests home and turn off the music.

3:40 a.m.
A Northeastern student reported an intoxicated male sitting on the ground of Krentzman Quad. Officers responded and spoke to the subject, not with the university, who was conscious but not alert. EMS was notified and arrived at 3:57 a.m. to transport the male to Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

2:15 p.m.
A witness notified NUPD that a student reported to the circulation desk at Snell Library that his laptop had been stolen. He had left his MacBook Air unattended on the third floor of the library between 1:00 p.m. and 2:05 p.m. A report was filed.

7:20 p.m.
A student contacted police operations to report approximately $300 worth of clothing was stolen a laundry room in a dorm between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. A report was filed.

9:14 p.m.
An anonymous caller reported loud noises in a building on Symphony Road. He had called BPD but they had yet to respond. NUPD responded to report, speaking to the Northeastern student in the suspected apartment. The student had shut off the music by the time officers arrived.

11:36 p.m.
An RA in International Village West contacted police operations to report an intoxicated female who could not stand. NUPD responded and requested EMS for evaluation. EMS transported the student to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center at 12:51 a.m. and the RD was notified.

11:46 p.m.
A female contacted police operations to report she had consumed an excessive, unknown amount of vodka. Officers responded to Davenport B and reported that the girl was conscious and alert and denied further medical treatment. A medical waiver was signed, but the female called again at 1:13 a.m. to be reevaluated by police. EMS was requested for further evaluation and provided transport to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center at 12:57 a.m. An RD was notified.
Sunday, Oct. 5

12:46 a.m.
A witness in Light Hall stated that there was an intoxicated man in the building’s basement who seemed to be non-alert. NUPD requested EMS, which arrived at 1:12 a.m. and transported the Northeastern student to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center at 1:28 a.m. An RD was notified.

1:25 a.m.
An RA in International Village West reported that there was an intoxicated male in the lobby who did not appear conscious or alert. An officer responded to find the NU student was conscious and alert but not steady. EMS arrived for further evaluation but denied medical transport. A report was filed.

1:44 a.m.
An RA reported that there was a female vomiting on the second floor bathroom of Smith Hall. An officer determined that the intoxicated student did not require medical attention and she signed a medical waiver. A report was filed.

2:14 a.m.
A resident in 204 Hemenway reported loud music coming from the apartment next door. Officers respond and spoke to a Northeastern student who agreed to turn down the music.

2:47 a.m.
An off-duty RA in 650 Columbus Ave. reported loud music coming from one of the rooms. Officers responded and reported speaking with an NU student who agreed to turn down the music. Other individuals were told to leave the area.

4:28 p.m.
A NU student reported his USB flash drive was stolen from the design lounge of The Mugar Life Sciences Building several days ago. A report was filed.
