Crime Log: Oct. 13-19

Monday, Oct. 13

8:02 p.m.
A Northeastern student reported that a male compelled him to deposit a check and withdraw $720 in cash from the Bank of America ATM located at 285 Huntington Ave. No weapons or threats were used during the incident, which occurred at 7:25 p.m., after which the victim immediately walked to NUPD headquarters to report the incident. The Boston Police Department (BPD) was notified, and a report was filed.

Tuesday, Oct. 14

11:08 a.m.
An administrative assistant reported to NUPD that a Northeastern-owned silver iPad and iPad charger were stolen from her unsecured office in Hayden Hall. A report was filed.

5:24 p.m.
An NU student reported that his car was dented while in the Columbus Parking Garage between 9:30 a.m. and 10 p.m. on Friday. It appeared as if a person had jumped on the hood of the vehicle. A report was filed.

7:41 p.m.
An NU student reported that his bicycle was stolen from the racks next to International Village over the past week. The cable lock had been broken. A report was filed.

Wednesday, Oct. 15

3:42 p.m.
An NU student reported that his backpack and laptop were stolen from Gallery 360 in Ell Hall between 3 and 3:30 p.m. while left unattended. A report was filed.

9:32 p.m.
A Resident Assistant (RA) reported exit signs on the third and fourth floor of 10 Coventry St. damaged. An NUPD officer responded and reported the signs seemed to have been pulled down. A work order was placed, and a report was filed.

Thursday, Oct. 16

11:24 a.m.
An NU student reported to NUPD that his iPhone 6 was stolen from a room in the Dana Research Center between 9:30 and 10 a.m. A report was filed.

4:57 p.m.
An NU student reported his backpack, textbook and laptop were stolen on Wednesday after being left unattended in the International Village dining hall between 6 and 6:30 p.m. A report was filed.

Friday, Oct. 17

12:33 a.m.
Multiple callers reported their friend was intoxicated and having trouble standing in front of 700 Columbus Ave. Officers responded and requested Emergency Medical Services (EMS), which arrived at 12:47 a.m. and transported the male NU student to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The Residence Director (RD) was notified.

4:44 p.m.
An NU student reported her purse was stolen from a bench outside Davenport A after being left unattended between 3:30 and 5 p.m. A report was filed.

8:15 p.m.
An NU student reported locking his gray road bike with a cable lock to the fence in front of Dodge Hall at 6 p.m. and returning at 8 p.m. to find it missing. A report was filed.

9:08 p.m.
A caller passing the North Lot reported several males appeared to be assisting a highly intoxicated male in their group. Officers responded and requested EMS for the student, who was underage. EMS arrived and transported the student to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. An RD was notified.

Saturday, Oct. 18

12:22 a.m.
A proctor in 153 Hemenway St. reported an intoxicated female outside the building. Officers spoke to the Emerson student and requested EMS, which arrived at 12:30 a.m. and transported the female to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center at 12:48 p.m.

1:12 a.m.
An NUPD officer reported that two parties broke the gate at the Renaissance Park Garage. The officer spoke to a Northeastern student, who was one of the two parties. A work order was placed and a report was filed.

2:06 a.m.
An RA in 337 Huntington Ave. reported loud music coming from one of the rooms in the building. Officers spoke with two Northeastern students who agreed to turn down the music.

3:02 p.m.
An NU student reported his red bicycle with a blue wheel was stolen from the bike rack at Squashbusters between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. A report was filed.

4:30 p.m.
An NU student reported being approached on Parker Street by an unidentified male asking for money. After the encounter, the student noticed his wallet missing from his pocket. A report was filed.

10 p.m.
An NU student reported a loud party in one of the basement apartments of 132 Hemenway St. Officers responded and reported approximately 60 people leaving the apartment. The three Northeastern residents were checked, and alcohol was found present with underage consumers. A report was filed.

Sunday, Oct. 19

10:48 a.m.
An NU student reported to NUPD that his Dre Beats headphones were stolen from Ell Hall after he left them on a desk in one of the rooms at 4 p.m. on Saturday. A report was filed.

7:30 p.m.
NUPD received a call from a female student reporting that her iPhone was stolen. She was tracking the phone, which appeared to be in Speare Hall, but NUPD reported an inability to track the device accurately. A report was filed.

8:04 p.m.
A student left her bike secured to the fence of Carter Park on Columbus Avenue with a cable lock at 9 a.m. and returned at noon to find it missing. The bicycle was a hot pink 1989 Ross Unicorn with a bright pink basket valued at $150. A report was filed.

9:22 p.m.
An RA in 10 Coventry St. reported the exit signs were missing from the second and third floors of the building. A work order was placed, and a report was filed.

Monday, Oct. 20

12:41 a.m.
An NU student reported his vehicle was broken into while parked on the second floor of the Columbus Parking Garage. The owner stated he forgot to lock the vehicle and an MP3 player and laptop were taken from the Massachusetts-registered car. A report was filed.

 

Correction: In the original article, published on Oct. 23, The News described the missing bicycle on Oct. 19 as having a pink basket. The bicycle had a green basket.
