Crime Log: Sept. 14 – Sept. 20

Entry of the week: Monday, Sept. 14
9:03 p.m.
A Resident Assistant (RA) reported that residents of Stetson East slammed the door in her face after she asked them to be quiet and stop throwing trash out of the windows into the North Lot. The residents continued being disorderly, causing multiple complaints in the building. The Northeastern University Police Department (NUPD) responded and a student agreed not to toss water balloons out the window. The student’s information was collected.

Monday, Sept. 14
8:13 a.m.
NUPD received a fire alarm alert from 319 Huntington Ave. Officers responded and found the sprinkler head in one room was damaged. Other rooms also sustained damage. The alarm was reset, and a work order and report were both filed.

4:59 p.m.
A Northeastern University (NU) student reported applying for a job through the student portal. She was selected for a job sending and receiving packages for significant pay. The employer asked for her class schedule and would not answer basic questions, making the student uncomfortable and suspicious. The Student Employment Office advised her to contact NUPD and a report was filed.

10:11 p.m.
The assistant manager of Qdoba reported that a female, accompanied by a female and a male, threatened to knock out her teeth after she informed the subject she could not take soda without paying. NUPD checked the area and stopped three individuals matching the given description outside of Ruggles Station. The assistant manager identified the subject, who was unaffiliated with Northeastern, and she was arrested at 10:28 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 15
11:48 a.m.
The manager of the Wollastons in Marino Center reported detaining a shoplifter who was cooperative. NUPD responded and collected the information of the NU student. He was banned from both the Wollastons in Marino Center and in West Village B.

12:19 p.m.
A hockey coach reported that an NU student informed her she had $120 stolen from her unsecured dorm room in West Village A. NUPD responded to Matthews Arena to speak with the student and filed a report.

7:20 p.m.
A work order reported that the ABM maintenance company’s closet door appears to have been kicked in in 110 St. Stephens St. NUPD reported the door was heavily damaged but staff report nothing was taken. A report was filed.

Wednesday, Sept. 16
8:51 p.m.
An NU student called from Burstein Hall to report that she had thought she lost her iPhone but had tracked it online to a local address. A report was filed.

Thursday, Sept. 17
1:30 p.m.
An employee in the Wollastons inMarino Center notified NUPD that he was detaining a shoplifter who was being cooperative. NUPD responded and found there were two subjects who had attempted to steal Gatorade, but had returned the products before leaving the area prior to officers’ arrival. A report was filed.

1:51 p.m.
NUPD reported two females fighting in front of West Village G. Officers halted the fight between the McKinley High School students (one of whom was with her mother). The Boston Police Department (BPD) was notified and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) was alerted for one of the parties, who had scrapes and cuts on her shoulder and back. EMS evaluated the student and transported her home. A report was filed.

4:07 p.m.
An NU student reported her iPod was stolen from the lobby of Speare Hall between 7:30 and 7:50 a.m. A report was filed.

8:57 p.m.
An NU student reported his Huffy bike was secured outside of Snell Library at approximately 4:00 p.m., and when he returned later, it had been stolen. A report was filed.

9:32 p.m.
An NU student reported her backpack was taken from Carter Park while left unattended. A report was filed.

10:01 p.m.
Two students reported having their personal property stolen from their respective unlocked lockers in the YMCA. A report was filed.

Friday, Sept. 18
12:32 a.m.
An extremely intoxicated student was reported in Smith Hall. NUPD responded and requested EMS for the student, who was conscious and alert. EMS arrived and transported the party to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The Residence Director (RD)was notified.

2:22 a.m.
NUPD reported multiple people were on top of a roof near Chicken Lou’s. Seven students were taken into custody and all parties will be summonsed to court for trespassing.

12:24 p.m.
An NU student reported someone had used her personal information to file 2014 taxes. A report was filed.

10:54 p.m.
NUPD requested EMS to respond to the corner of Ruggles Street and Tavern Road for an NU student, who was with other students at the time. The subject was intoxicated and was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The RD on call was notified.

11:28 p.m.
An RA in Stetson West reported that an intoxicated male wandered into the lobby of Stetson West. NUPD responded and requested EMS for the student. EMS transported the student to Boston Children’s Hospital. NUPD accompanied the student, who was a minor. NUPD confiscated his fake ID and provided a return escort from the hospital at 1:58 a.m. The RD on call was notified and a report was filed.

11:33 p.m.
An intoxicated man was reported on the front steps of 171 Hemenway St. NUPD responded and requested EMS for the NU student. A fake ID was confiscated and the student was transported the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The RD on call was notified.

Saturday, Sept. 19

12:14 a.m.
An individual reported to NUPD that he was with an intoxicated 21-year-old female and requested assistance. NUPD responded and requested EMS for the unconscious student, who was transported to Tufts Medical Center.

2:02 a.m.
A student locked inside a bathroom stall in the first floor men’s room of Stetson West was reported. The student was vomiting and may have been passed out. NUPD responded and requested EMS for the 17-year-old, who was conscious and alert, but had fallen asleep on the toilet for anhour. EMS arrived and called the student’s mother, who declined transport.

2:10 a.m.
NUPD reported five students trespassing behind the construction site on Columbus Lot near the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority tracks. The students will be summoned to court.

Sunday, Sept. 20

2:33 a.m.
An NU student stated her roommate in Willis Hall was intoxicated. EMS arrived and declined to transport the student. Her roommates monitored her overnight.

5:13 a.m.
An intoxicated male was reported next to the dining hall in Stetson East. NUPD responded and requested EMS, who transported the student to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The RD on call was notified.

8:36 a.m.
An NU student called to report his MacBook Pro and wallet were stolen from 313 Huntington Ave. A report was filed.

7:18 p.m.
An NU student reported his bicycle was stolen from the racks outside of International Village. An officer responded to the report and 20 minutes later stopped a male fitting the description of someone the victim had seen with bolt cutters. The juvenile subject was given a trespassing warning and held at NUPD headquarters until he was released to his mother at 9:03 p.m. A report was filed.

8:22 p.m.
An NU student reported he had been studying in Snell Library between 5 and 7 p.m. and had left a pair of sunglasses in a study room while he relocated to a different area in the library.  The sunglasses were not there when he returned. He checked the lost and found with no results. A report was filed.
