Website Comment Policy
The Huntington News encourages readers to post comments using their real names.
We will delete comments we find to be obscene, discriminatory or threatening. Advertisements, spam and comments posted under the name of a News staff member are not permitted. The News reserves the right to disable commenting on any article.
News staff members and correspondents do not post comments.
WordPress, the web host of The News, requires that comments include an e-mail address in addition to a name. The News will not use or distribute e-mail addresses in any way.
If you believe your comment has been unfairly deleted, please contact the managing editor at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Letter to the Editor Policy
The News welcomes your Letters to the Editor, opinion pieces or commentaries. All submissions must have the writer’s full name, and year, major and position at the university, if applicable.
Please submit no more than 500 words in the body of an email and not as an attachment. Letters may be edited for clarity and length. Poems and anonymous letters are not printed.
Email your letters to the editorial editor at email@example.com.
Crime Log Policy
The crime log is compiled from reports made available by the Northeastern University Division of Public Safety under state and federal public records laws. Nothing in those reports should be construed to be a finding of guilt; they are a record of the actions taken on a given day by the Northeastern University Police Department (NUPD).
We will remove a crime log entry from our website only if the person involved has had all charges related to the incident in question dropped, or if the person is found not guilty after a trial and can produce the appropriate documents to prove so.
We are always happy to amend the record of an event if the information provided to us is deficient or wrong. Notify us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
