Cutting football is an embarrassment to students, alumni and the Northeastern community. Are economic times so hard that we can only give raises to executive leadership, rather than putting money into a suffering program? I can’t imagine it costs much to turn on the lights on the high school-quality field that is Parsons Field. Maybe Peter Roby will now have time to juggle the other half of his title, emphasizing recreation before valuing scholar-athletes.
