The Northeastern baseball team’s postseason bid ended with a narrow 3-2 loss to the Mississippi State University Bulldogs during the NCAA regional tournament June 1. Despite the loss, the Huskies continued to be recognized for their record breaking 2024-25 season with multiple awards.
On June 6, head coach Mike Glavine and four Huskies received Eastern College Athletic Conference, or ECAC, honors.
Glavine was named ECAC Coach of the Year for the third time in his career and the second time in three seasons. Under his leadership, Northeastern led collegiate baseball in pitching stats and shutouts and broke multiple program records, including earning the longest winning streak in the nation. In his 10 years as head coach, Glavine led the team to its second CAA tournament win and four NCAA tournament appearances. The team finished the 2024-25 season with a program record No. 19 national rank.
Redshirt junior left fielder Harrison Feinberg and junior center fielder Cam Maldonado were named to the All-ECAC team alongside graduate student left-handed pitcher Will Jones and junior right-handed pitcher Aiven Cabral. On May 20, all four players earned All-CAA First Team honors, and Feinberg took home CAA Player of the Year.
Feinberg and Maldonado each set program records in stolen bases this season. Maldonado broke the record for all time stolen bases, while Feinberg broke the record for most stolen bases in a single season. Both players ranked first and second in team batting statistics and had a combined 154 hits, 126 RBIs, 33 home runs and 66 stolen bases. Jones and Cabral helped lead the pitching staff to 17 shutouts, a 3.06 ERA and 1.04 WHIP.
These awards close out what has been a historic year for the Huskies.
