The men’s soccer team announced June 10 that it has hired two new assistant coaches, Jordan Koduah and John Manga.
Koduah comes from Oakwood Soccer Club as a player development coach. He led multiple youth teams, including 2012B National Arena League and 2015B Pre-MLS Next. He is also the co-founder of NextPlay Training LLC, a small soccer training group. The organization recently partnered with Project GOAL to help give back to the community. Project GOAL’s mission is to provide kids educational and athletic support regardless of their background.
Koduah competed at a Division I level for the University of Hartford from 2018 to 2021 and the University of Rhode Island from 2021 to 2022. At Hartford, he helped lead the team to the America East Championship game in 2019 and contributed to 12 shutouts in three seasons. After transferring to URI, he started in 30 of the 31 games.
Manga joins the Huskies after leaving his head coaching role at Georgetown College. He started with the team as an assistant coach in 2021 and was promoted to interim head coach in July 2024. He became the team’s official head coach in October 2024.
Manga made an impact during his time playing for the University of Cincinnati from 2012 to 2016. As a junior, he earned first team All-AAC and second team All-Ohio and became the first Cincinnati player since 2007 to record double-digit goals, with 10, along with two assists. During his time as a Bearcat, he helped his team secure multiple conference victories as he netted 16 goals and gained five assists.
Manga continued his playing career when he was drafted in the fourth round of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft by the Colorado Rapids. He also played for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the United Soccer League from 2017 until he retired.
