Ski and snowboard lingo flew like a hailstorm over Boston’s first annual Winter Film Festival on Saturday, where skiers, boarders and extreme sports enthusiasts gathered to see some of the season’s top ski and snowboard films on the big screen.
In an unexpected surprise opening of the annual Homecoming comedian show, Sarah Silverman made an announcement that she would perform, but that Nick Swardson, the other headliner of the evening, was violently sick at his hotel. The show went on, but with a few new talents.

His exhibition, “Mario Testino: In Your Face,” is the first one in the United States and showcases the brilliant range of his photographs over his 30-year career. His exhibition features beautiful and sophisticated images of celebrities including Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Moss, Nicole Kidman, Gisele Bündchen, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Brad Pitt and David Beckham. The “Mario Testino: In Your Face” exhibit, which begins Sunday, is all about recreating Testino’s world and the artists he photographs. The exhibit will also include a gallery dedicated to the British Royal Portraits.
