Feeling nostalgic? Reminisce on the glory days with a night of music from the early 2000s, which means Britney Spears, T-Pain, NSYNC, Lil Jon and Beyoncé. Thursday Night Music Club at 6B Lounge is hosting a Now That’s What I Call Music 00’s Night just so you can dance to Soulja Boy again, you know you want to. 21+; 6B Beacon St.; 9p.m.; free.

 

Friday, Jan. 16

Tired of watching the Game Show Network? Try your hand at Trivia for free at Newbury Street’s popular bookstore and cafe Trident Booksellers. Teams of up to six will battle it out over original trivia questions this Friday night. First prize is a $35 gift card to Trident. Trident Booksellers and Cafe, 338 Newbury Street; 8:30 p.m.; free.

 

Saturday, Jan. 17

This Saturday night three of the world’s top ten harmonica players will be in attendance at the Cure Your Winter Bluesfest, along with five blues artists and bands. The night features the likes of Vinnue Serino and Boston Baked Blues, Danny Klein, Rick “King” Russell and the Cadillac Horns, James Montgomery, Jerry Portnoy and the Temple Horns. All the proceeds from the event will go to ALYN Hospital in Israel. The hospital treats children with a range of congenital and acquired conditions. Sunday, Jan. 18

Need a little laughter? Check out Boston Comedy Chicks this Sunday for a little extra levity.Boston Comedy Chicks are Boston’s only ongoing all-female comedy night. The night will include storytellers, stand-up, sketch comedy and improv performers and not to worry, all are welcome, these chicks prefer a mixed-gender audiance, in case you want to make it date night.; Doyle’s Cafe 3484 Washington Street, Jamaica Plain; 7p.m.; $10.

 

Monday, Jan. 19

Get your week started off with a bang by attending the longest running traditional Irish Seisiun in Boston. Bring your own instrument and join local musicians for a jam session – all are welcome. Not a musician? Come to the pub and enjoy the spontaneous Irish music anyway. The Green Briar; 7p.m.; free.

 

Tuesday, Jan. 20

Already feeling stressed with the start of a new semester? Attend the 30’s and Under Meditation followed by a brief discussion on the practice of meditation in everyday life. Wednesday, Jan. 21

Mix up your weekly Wednesday with a swing dance class at MIT. Check into the first floor lobby of the Bush Building and join the MITLindy Hop Society to learn all about this swing dance, which is sometimes referred to as a street dance due to its improvisational nature.
