The next stretch of games for NU will be crucial; they finally start conference play, which decides the seeding for the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) tournament at the end of the season.
The Huskies went 4-3 over the life of the tournament, starting on Saturday, March 4, against Ball State University.
The Northeastern University (NU) men’s basketball team saw their season expire with the clock on Saturday, March 4, suffering an 82-54 loss to Towson University in the first round of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Tournament.
Freshman guard Bolden Brace sunk a school record 10 three-pointers en route to 40 points. It was just the third 40-point game in school history; the other two were accomplished by NBA veterans Jose Juan Barea in 2005 and Reggie Lewis in 1986.
After the exhibition against the Boston Red Sox, the Huskies remained in Florida throughout the weekend, taking on North Florida four times across three days.
Friday’s game marked Opening Day for the Huskies. Senior right-hander Mike Fitzgerald got the starting nod after serving as NU’s shutdown closer in 2016.
