Christine Lai didn’t let the rainy weather this past week force her into baggy T-shirts and sweatpants. Lai, a freshman civil engineering major, wore a blue Delia’s dress with shoes and a scarf from Target to get breakfast with friends.

Lai defines her style as classic, saying she prefers to wear simple clothing that can be played up or down with the right accessories, as shown by the bright blue dress and colorful scarf she sported.

“I kind of have an addiction to scarves. I actually packed 18 [for school], and that wasn’t even all of them,” she said.

While she may have a plethora of scarves, Lai said other areas of her closet are a little more bare. She said she would love to find the perfect pair of riding boots, but the one time she came closest to finding them, she found the pairs she was planning on buying was sold out. “I was like, ‘are you kidding me?’” she said.
