A Northeastern student was found dead in his fifth-floor West Village H apartment Friday, according to a Boston Police Department incident report.

Boston Police, or BPD, responded to the investigation at around 4:40 p.m. in unit 506 B. Northeastern University Police Department, or NUPD, was already on scene, as well as the victim’s parents. When BPD arrived, the victim was lying face-down on the floor and unresponsive. Emergency Medical Services was present and declared the victim nonviable, the report said.

The student was a 22-year-old white man from Westwood, Massachusetts, according to the incident report, though the student’s name is redacted from the file because the investigation is still ongoing.

The BPD police report indicates that the death occurred Wednesday midday. It does not indicate a cause of death. BPD does not suspect foul play, Sgt. Detective John Boyle said.

An NUPD and university spokesperson declined to comment.
