Student Center food court revamped

Workers at UBurger serve customers in the new Curry Student Center food court. After a summer of frenzied gutting and reconstruction, the renovated Curry Student Center has reopened its doors to a host of new eateries and appreciative students.

Cappy’s reopens on Westland Avenue

Demetrios Pseudoikonomou, owner of Cappy’s Pizza & Subs, stood outside his business 11 months ago and watched as firefighters struggled to put out the flames engulfing his restaurant’s roof. Almost a year later, Cappy’s, of 82 Westland Ave. has reopened for business and students from Northeastern and other surrounding schools are moving back into the apartments above the restaurant.

Millennium Campus Conference coming to Northeastern

Fenway residents discuss complaints, goals at meeting with Northeastern administrators

At a community meeting with Northeastern administrators Tuesday night, residents of the Fenway said they know the area around Gainsborough and Hemenway streets and Symphony Road as “Animal House." There, they said, students destroy property and shatter the peace of late weekend nights, strolling through the neighborhood after bars close and parties clear out. The problem of student behavior in "Animal House" was one of several concerns residents relayed to university officials Tuesday as Northeastern and the surrounding community work to create a mutually agreeable Institutional Master Plan (IMP) for the school.

Moody’s says Northeastern is a low credit risk

Ahead of Northeastern’s expected bond sale at the end of the month, Moody’s Investors Service said in a credit rating that the university has a stable outlook for its financial future but relies narrowly on student charges for revenue. The university is expected to sell $50.9 million in revenue bonds on August 27, according to a statement from Moody’s. Moody’s assigned an A2 rating to these bonds.This represents a mid-level A rating; the highest rating Moody’s offers is AAA.
