Boston’s South End was all jazzed up for the fourth annual “Beantown Jazz Festival” last Saturday.
From noon to 6 p.m. contemporary and classic jazz music filled the air from Massachusetts Avenue all the way down Columbus Avenue to Burke Street.
Various soulful artists performed including Wannetta Jackson, Ray Greene and the recipient of both 1991’s and 1993’s Soul Train Music Award for Best Jazz artist, NAJEE. The assorted jazz performers presented both their own personal music as well as classics including Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get it On” and Otis Redding’s “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay.”
