It is believed by some that the sky is the limit and no fraternity knows that better than Kappa Sigma.
During their three-day international conference last weekend held in Cincinnati, Ohio, the fraternity was presented with 11 awards. Some of the awards included: the Outstanding President award, Outstanding Vice-President award, Outstanding Treasurer award and Champion Chapter for having over 50 members during the 2003-04 academic year, according to a press release.
Kappa Sigma’s former President Justin Hansen was presented with the Outstanding President award in front of 600 of his fellow brothers from over 100 chapters across the eastern United States and Canada.
Current President Shawn Cray said winning all of the awards felt really good and gave the fraternity great motivation for next year.
“We have our eyes on a couple of the other ones for next year, some of the more prestigious ones,” Cray said. The group did not take home the Founder’s Circle Award this year, the highest honor given out at the conference.
Besides the awards ceremony, brothers discussed fraternity issues with national executives and set the fraternity’s goals for the upcoming year both locally and nationally.
Kappa Sigma is represented on 220 college and university campuses and has a current membership standing over 230,000, according to a press release.
