It was no coincidence that the Sept. 25 Beantown Jazz Festival was hosted on Columbus Avenue on the outstretches of Northeastern’s campus. A line of jazz clubs around the area indicates that the street is actually a jazz music hub, where students searching for entertainment and a bite to eat can satiate their cultural appetite.
“People say that it is a huge part [of the culture] over there,” said Daniel Goscombe, a sophomore music major .
Located in the historic South End, a section of Boston known for its rich history and long standing affection for jazz, Columbus Avenue is home to not only a large amount of the university’s housing but also to an array of clubs almost catering exclusively to the music of the neighborhood.
