There’s really nothing better than digging up a unique find. A vintage clutch from the ‘20s. A screaming floral, shift dress that reeks of Edie Sedgwick’s cigarette smoke. Or just the perfect over-sized flannel shirt. Boston is chock full of booty from bygone eras, you just have to know the right places to look. Follow this guide and you’re sure to find a treasure (or 10).

Expect: To get on your knees and start digging – there are stains and dirt and lots of grime but cleverly concealed between old tablecloths and giant Tweety Bird tees lurk cozy essentials for a look of lumberjack-chic. Think Mary-Kate Olsen on a good day.
Look for: Oversized men’s flannel and chunky sweaters.

Expect: Your typical “Goodwill” thrifting spot. Rows upon rows of shoulder pads and shamelessly bold shades with a treasure or two tucked here and there. Organized roughly by color and style.
Look for: Oversized vintage menswer blazers to pair with slender cigarette pants and a basic top.

Expect: A fantasy-land of beautiful vintage dresses and separates, best for those who prefer not to dig. You’ll be overwhelmed with ‘40s. housewife chic
Look for: The perfect house dress from every era. In perfect condition. With a perfect little hand-stamped price tag.

Expect: A curated hodgepodge of bygone booty with pieces dating back to the 1800s. Bobby’s is famous for dressing the cast of “Titanic.”
Look for: Vintage menswear pieces like bombers, blazers and newsboy caps.

Expect: Vintage and consigned clothing in impeccable condition organized by decade, plus an expansive selection of accessories.
