Director Brad Bird wants his viewers to know something about animated movies.
“They’re not animated movies, they’re movies period,” said the director of “The Incredibles” during an interview on his college publicity tour for Disney and Pixar’s latest shot at the box office record book.
“It may be animated, but you’re still giving your characters lives. The writing is no different between animation and live action. There’s too much attention to the whole ‘animatedness’ of these movies.”
However, it will be hard not to pay attention to the animated powerhouse Mr. Incredible and his super-powered family and friends. The movie is a kinetic joyride full of eye-popping visuals and fantastic special effects, while still maintaining the heart Pixar movies have been known for.
