Globe and New York Times free on campus for summer Free issues of The Boston Globe and The New York Times will be available on campus throughout the summer, the Student Government Association announced in Senate last week. During the fall semester, the Boston Herald was provided in several buildings on campus, including Shillman Hall, as was the Globe in the spring semester. However, the Herald was removed from campus after a controversial photo ran involving Victoria Snelgrove, the Emerson College student who died in riots following the Red Sox’ clinching Game 7 victory over the New York Yankees. Since the beginning of the first “summester” neither the Globe, Herald or Times has been provided on campus, but SGA President Bill Durkin said a deal has been struck so both the Globe and the Times will be present on campus for the duration of the summer.
