New OSCCR director starts Monday
Mary Wegmann will take over as director of the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution (OSCCR) Monday. She will replace Colleen Ryan, who was appointed August 2009.
Warren Woods sold to Ashland
Residents of Ashland voted on Tuesday to spend $5 million to buy Warren Woods from Northeastern. The woods were given to Northeastern by the Warren family – partly at the time of Henry Warren’s death in 1957, and partly by his widow in 1967. Warren was an entrepreneur, who granted the land with the provision that it be preserved. Now that the provisions have expired, the town of Ashland has purchased the land in hopes of building new athletic fields.
Electric menorah in Krentzman quad
In celebration of Hanukkah, which began yesterday, members of Northeastern University Hillel have erected a large electric menorah in Krentzman quad. As a part of the annual tradition, they will do ceremonial candle lightings at 7 p.m. for the remainder of Hanukkah.
