Drinks of the Week

By Allie Ehrhart, News Staff

While my mother and I were stranded in our New Jersey home during the blizzard over winter break, she helped me get back into the summer state of mind by telling me about the vacation to Jamaica she took weeks earlier while I was taking mid-terms. On the trip, she learned how to make a drink they served, called the Dirty Banana. Not necessarily the most common drink to see at a bar, it’s not as ubiquitous as a drink such as a margarita, but still has a tropical and relaxing flavor.

Being back at school, I don’t have my mom to make me tropical drinks. Even if I did, she would not be providing the alcohol needed for them. Here’s a little something that comes close to the flavor of the Dirty Banana without the liquor.
