Drink of the Week: Peach paradise

It’s July, which means the sun is out in full-force and everyone is hitting the beach. Mix up this drink and enjoy a day out on the porch with this fruity twist on a classic summer cocktail.

If the thought of drinking right in the the sun induces nightmares of dehydration, try the virgin version of this cocktail, an ice-cold and refreshing peach smoothie.

Peach Margarita

Ingredients:

1 cup ice

¼ ounce Triple Sec

¼ ounce Peach Schnapps

¼ ounce lime juice

1 ½ ounce tequila

1 peach, skinned and pitted (optional)

 

Directions:

Put all ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth. Serve in a chilled margarita glass rimmed with salt and garnished with a lime slice.

 

 

Peach Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 large peach, sliced and unseeded

1/2 cup peach yogurt

1/2 cup whole milk

6 ice cubes

 

Directions:

Blend the peach slices with the ice cubes and milk until slushy. Add the yogurt and blend slowly for another minute. You may substitute canned peaches for fresh peaches.
