A 22-year-old Northeastern student was arrested today in Meserve Hall, a Boston Police Department (BPD) spokesman told The News. Colin Gillis is charged with larceny by scheme.
Police said they were contacted by a loss prevention manager from the CVS pharmacy at 400 Tremont St. who informed them of the alleged crime. Gillis, a former CVS employee, allegedly twice gained unauthorized access to the pharmacy, donned a white pharmacist lab coat and stole a 100 count bottle of hydrocodone pills. Hydrocodone, a semi-synthetic opiod, is a major element in the painkiller Vicodin.
Gillis could not immediately be reached for comment.
