A Northeastern University Division of Public Safety (NUPD) officer was hit by a ricocheting bullet around 6 p.m. Wednesday at a firing range on Moon Island in Boston Harbor, according to Boston Police Department (BPD) officials.
The officer, who has not been identified, was taken to Brigham and Women’s hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Northeastern officials told media the officer was taking part in a firearms training program at the time of the accident.
The range, owned by the city of Boston, was shut down Wednesday evening as BPD investigated the incident.
