Conor Larkin’s Drink of the Week

It may seem like autumn is on its way out with the cold weather last weekend, but winter is still a month and a half away. The Pumpkin Bomb can be drunk bomb style – that is, by dropping the shot glass into the beer glass and chugging – or just like drinking any other beer, so try it out before fall really is over.

Thanksgiving is a big autumn holiday and cranberry is one of Thanksgiving’s staple flavors, especially in the form of cranberry sauce. While the lime-infused Cranberry Spritzer may remind some of us of summertime, it’s all bubbly cranberry at its core.

Pumpkin bomb

Ingredients:

1/2 pint Guinness

1/2 ounce vanilla vodka

1/2 ounce pumpkin flavored Irish creme (Conor’s has Molly’s, but Baileys is also fine).

Directions:

Pour the Guinness into a pint glass and the other liquor into a shot glass. When you’re ready to drink it, drop the shot glass into the beer and either chug the whole thing like an Irish car bomb or sip it, whatever feels right.

Cranberry Spritzer

Ingredients:

1 cup cranberry juice

1/2 cup Sprite

Lime

Ice

Directions:

In a Collins glass, mix the cranberry juice and Sprite over ice. Add a squeeze of lime, or some lime flavored grenadine, and then garnish with a different lime wedge. Don’t shake or stir the drink; let sit for the best taste.
