A resident of 1049 Tremont St., near International Village (INV), found a 50-year-old neighbor found fatally wounded Thursday, Feb. 9, according to reports from the Boston Police Department (BPD). Initial reports based on police radio transcripts indicated the victim was killed with a baseball bat, but BPD officials declined to confirm the weapon.
Northeastern Director of Communications Renata Nyul confirmed no one involved in the crime had university affiliations.
“Other than the close proximity of the location, there is absolutely no affiliation between the incident and Northeastern,” Nyul said in a statement.
