NU gives official comments on network outages
After multiple network outages on campus in the past two weeks, Northeastern’s vice president for information services sent an email to students about Monday’s outage. “We are working with the vendor to determine the cause of the outage,” said Rehan Khan in the email. Officials declined to further comment to The News.

Author to lecture on the science of ‘super’
James Kakalios, author of “The Physics of Superheroes” will be at Blackman Auditorium Sunday at 2 p.m. to discuss the science behind Superman, Spiderman and other crime fighters. The event is hosted by the College of Science in association with the American Physical Society and is open to the public free of charge.

Discussion on Jeremy Lin, sports stereotytpes
“Linsanity” about New York Knicks’ rookie point guard Jeremy Lin has dominated sports news and spurred discussion about race in sports. Northeastern students can examine Lin’s sudden popularity and how stereotypes have affected his basketball career from 6 to 7 p.m. tomorrow at the Asian American Center, 109 Hemenway St.

NU ranked fifth for innovation research
The Journal of Product Innovation Management ranked Northeastern fifth in the world for its innovation management field of research. The journal also recognized three of Northeastern’s business professors, Gloria Barczak, Edward McDonough III and Marc Meyer, for their contributions to the field.
