Tuesday, January 20
6 p.m.
A’ student reported she had been receiving harassing phone calls and e-mails from an ex-boyfriend and one of his family members from Texas. Northeastern University Division of Public Safety (NUPD) contacted the ex-boyfriend and he claimed he had stopped calling her, didn’t know his family still was and told police he would tell them to stop.

Wednesday, January 21
3 p.m.
A student reported leaving her iPhone in the Churchill Hall cafe around 1 p.m. She went back 30 minutes later and it was not there. Staff told her someone had turned one in, but another student had already claimed it.

5 p.m.
A student reported she left her wallet in a computer lab in Snell Library around 2 p.m. When she checked for it later, it was gone. It contained credit cards.

7 p.m.
Gene Jackson, 41, of Dorchester, was arrested for trespassing by a NUPD officer who saw him in Dodge Hall. He had been arrested before for trespassing on campus.

9:30 p.m.
A resident assistant (RA) in Speare Hall notified police of the odor of marijuana on the third floor. NUPD officers went to a room and found a towel under the door and a fan blowing out the window, despite the cold weather. Police confiscated half an ounce of marijuana and a pipe from the male resident. He will be reported to the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution (OSCCR).

Thursday, January 22
8:30 a.m.
Staff in Hayden Hall reported several pieces of artwork missing from a first floor corridor. They had been bolted to the wall but had been ripped off.

Noon
A student reported that a male student had repeatedly attempted to ‘friend’ her on Facebook. She rejected him several times and finally contacted NUPD. This student is known for harassing female students in the past and has been disciplined by OSCCR for similar behavior before. NUPD asked him to stop harassing the female student and reported him to OSCCR.

2 p.m.
After conducting an audit, members of the bookstore staff reported that a student had repeatedly shoplifted and sold books back for cash amounting in thousands of dollars. Police questioned her and she admitted to reselling the books to pay back a friend and pay for expensive clothing. The bookstore decided to report her to OSCCR instead of pressing criminal charges, pending that she reimburses them for every book she stole.

Friday, January 23
2 p.m.
The manager of the Wollastons in Marino Center contacted police to tell them that he was detaining a shoplifter who had stolen razors and become uncooperative. Police arrived and the suspect handed over the stolen razors. The manager decided not to press criminal charges. The student is banned from both Wollastons and will be reported to OSCCR.

Saturday, January 24
2 a.m.
An RA at 319 Huntington Ave. reported a noisy party. Officers arrived at the apartment where they could see red cups filled with beer from the doorway. Most people had left the party except for the two male residents, aged 18 and 19, and one female 19-year-old student, who officers found hiding in the shower. All three will be reported to OSCCR.

4:30 a.m.
A 19-year-old student returned to her apartment on Cunard Street and discovered a man who had vomited in her bedroom and passed out in her bed. She called NUPD. Police discovered that he was a 19-year-old male student who the female knew through her roommates. He was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center by ambulance. At the time that the male student was discovered, no one was home. The residents said they frequently leave their back door unlocked. Police recommended that they begin locking their doors and the male student will be reported to OSCCR.

9:15 p.m.
At the hockey game, officers saw two male students throw an empty five gallon bucket onto the ice from the balcony. The students said they were excited by the game and spontaneously decided to throw the bucket. They will be reported to OSCCR and are banned from future hockey games.

10:30 p.m.
Staff at afterHOURS told a crowd waiting outside they had reached capacity and didn’t expect that people would be leaving any time soon. Several people at the front of the line became upset and started yelling at staff members. Officers escorted four people away from the building. One person was a student. The other three were not students and were given a trespassing warning.

11:30 p.m.
A proctor in Davenport B reported that his cell phone had been stolen off the desk while he had been signing guests into the building. After he reported this to police, he repeatedly attempted to call his cell phone. Finally, someone picked up and told him he would return it to him. As police arrived to speak with the proctor, the student arrived with the cell phone. He said that he had seen his roommate with it earlier in the evening. Knowing it wasn’t his cell phone, he waited until his roommate became drunk, passed out and then took it to return it to its owner. Police went upstairs to speak to the roommate. They deemed him extremely intoxicated and he was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for treatment. The next morning he told police that he did not remember taking the cell phone and frequently drinks to the point of blacking out. He will be reported to OSCCR.

Sunday, January 25
3 a.m.
A fight was reported on the second floor of Stetson East. Two visitors assaulted three students before fleeing the building. Police know who two of the visitors are because they had been signed in by a female student. The female student claimed she had asked them to leave after they became disorderly. Before they left they started a fight with students they passed in the hall. The students sustained minor injuries. One was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for minor abrasions. The students did not want to press criminal charges, but they requested that the two visitors be banned from campus, which police assured them would happen. The female student who signed them in will be reported to OSCCR.

2:30 p.m.
A student reported his laptop stolen after he had left his room in West Village A unlocked for about 15 minutes the night before. The student said his roommate had multiple guests over, as well as people down the hall and their guests. The student suspects that a guest of a neighbor took the laptop. He encountered this student on Sunday and confronted him. The non-student guest claimed he did not take the laptop. NUPD will follow up on the student’s suspicions.

4:30 p.m.
A female student in Speare Hall realized she lost her Husky Card and went to replace it. She was told that it had been used at several places off-campus, totaling $50 in charges.

Monday, January 26

8 p.m.

A detective went to speak with students on the second floor of Speare Hall after receiving numerous anonymous complaints of the odor of marijuana. Officers visited one room where they immediately detected a very strong scent of marijuana. One of the residents, a 19-year-old male student was reluctant to let police search the room but they only found a small amount of alcohol in his possession. His roommate, an 18-year-old student, told officers that he didn’t have anything and that they could search his room to prove it. Police found a grinder, marijuana and beer. He claimed that the marijuana in his dresser belonged to a friend. Officers confirmed with his friend, a 19-year-old male student from Kennedy Hall, that the drugs did belong to him. All three students will be reported to Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution and police plan to look further into drug use in Kennedy Hall.
