Wilson honored for third time this season
Guard Brittany Wilson of the women’s basketball team was named Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week for the third time this year, the conference announced Monday. Wilson scored a career-high 17 points last Thursday in Northeastern’s 68-58 win at William & Mary. She matched that mark and pulled down six rebounds in Northeastern’s 58-53 loss to first place Drexel Sunday at Solomon Court.
Wilson is averaging 8.1 points per game, fourth on the team and fifth among CAA rookies. Her 5.6 rebounds per game rank her second on the team and 20th in the conference.

Two former Huskies set to compete in WBC
Former Northeastern baseball players Adam Ottavino (2004-06) and Luke Carlin (2000-02) will be participating the World Baseball Classic set to take place from March 5 to March 23′ for their respective countries. Ottavino (Italy) posted a 13-13 record and 3.09 ERA in 45 games (33 starts), with the Huskies.’ His 290 career strikeouts in 253 1/3 innings are a school record. The righthander was drafted 30th overall by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2006 draft and is in their camp this spring as a non-roster invitee.
Carlin (Canada) is a non-roster invitee at the Arizona Diamondbacks’ spring training camp. In 148 games at Northeastern, the catcher posted a .326-15-97 line with 35 steals. He was drafted in the 10th round of the 2002 draft by the Detroit Tigers, and made his major league debut last season for the San Diego Padres, hitting .149 with one home run and six RBI in 36 games.

Baseball Beanpot final tickets now on sale
Tickets for the Baseball Beanpot final held at Fenway Park went on sale yesterday at noon. The championship round of the Baseball Beanpot is Monday, April 13. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at www.redsox.com/beanpot or by calling (877) REDSOX-9. The consolation game is at 2:05 p.m., followed by the Beanpot Championship game at 5:05 p.m. The Huskies play in the first round of the Beanpot April 7 against Harvard in Brockton. Game time has not been announced
