A student reported she was being harassed by her roommate, who kept signing her up for advertisements through the mail. Officers responded and reported that both residents are new transfer students who knew each other through high school and moved in together. The reporting student said they both started signing each other up for advertisements so that they would have mail. She now thinks this has gone too far.
College towns tend to be associated with a certain amount of juvenile debauchery. Therefore, it only seems appropriate that Boston, as America’s college town, is the Mecca of these not-always-harmless antics.
From September to May, students take to the streets in large, intoxicated groups and wreck havoc on their city, their livers and, apparently, their roommates – and The News reports on the most ridiculous incidents via the Crime Log Entry of the Week.
Around the halfway point of Spring semester, one particular Crime Log entry stood out as particularly harebrained. One student’s relationship with her roommate escalated from playful to one of full out harassment when she was flooded with advertisements through the mail. Both students signed each other up for the advertisements, but one of the pair took the prank too far, and was consequently reported by her cohabitant to NUPD.
