The football team announced kickoff times for its 2009 schedule June 15.
All home contests at Parsons Field will begin at 1 p.m. The six home games are Sept. 12 against Maine, Sept. 19 against Youngstown State, Oct. 3 against Holy Cross, Oct. 10 against William & Mary, Oct. 24 against Towson and the homecoming matchup against Hofstra Nov. 14.
NU will play five road games but will only leave the state three times. The season opener is Sept. 5 at Boston College. The game starts at 2 p.m. and will be broadcasted online at ESPN360.com. The team’s longest trip is the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) opener Sept. 26 at Villanova in Philadelphia, which will be shown on Comcast SportsNet New England. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
Late in the season, the team will play back-to-back games against rivals University of New Hampshire (UNH) and Massachusetts-Amherst. Both the Oct. 31 game at UNH and Nov. 7 game at UMass are scheduled for a 12 p.m. kickoff. The season finale is 12:30 p.m. at Rhode Island Nov. 21.
The Huskies went 2-10 last season, 1-7 in the CAA.
