Northeastern Athletcs announced that women’s hockey will add Nicole Stock as an assistant coach for the 2009-10 season, as head coach Dave Flint will be assisting the US National Team at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Stock will assist co-head coaches Linda Lundrigan and Lauren McAuliffe.
Stock served as captain of the Brown University hockey squad as a goaltender last season and as assistant captain in 2007-08. At Brown, she broke the school record for saves in a single game, single season and career as well as earning second-team All-Ivy honors the past two seasons. Stock graduated from Brown in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in political science.
Stock also coached in the Under-9 Providence Youth Lacrosse League between 2006 and 2009 and served as a sports management intern for Global Athletic Management Enterprises in 2008. She volunteered as a part-time goalie coach for the Rhode Island Xpress hockey team over the last four years.
The 2009-10 season begins Sept. 26 at Matthews Arena as the women take on Dawson in an exhibition game.
