RSA elects vice president for collaboration Wednesday night Julie Rizzolo was elected as Resident Student Association (RSA) Vice President for Collaboration, Vice President for Housing Services Matt Soleyn said. As Vice President for Collaboration, Rizzolo will work with various student groups on campus to help create events and programs.
‘Before, RSA alloted 10 percent of its budget to sponsoring programs, but not helping to create them. Rather than just allocating the money out, we should work together with groups on the programs and taking an actual stake in them,’ Soleyn said. ‘[We] wanted to help rather than act as funds.’
The position was created last fall, and proposed at the end of spring. The amendment to the constitution to allow the new position was solidified in the end of Summer II. The elections were held at RSA’s second meeting of the year, and Rizzolo beat Cat Armato for the position. No collaborations have been made yet, but an e-mail has been sent out to student groups on campus to alert them of the change.
