This week’s National Soccer Coaches Association of America Mid-Atlantic regional poll ranked the women’s soccer team third overall. Northeastern, 5-2-0, trails only the University of Charlotte (6-2-0) and Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) opponent William & Mary (6-2-0).
The Huskies, off to a 5-2 start, beat Longwood, Cincinnati, Clemson, New Hampshire, and Boston University so far.
Freshman forward Devin Petta leads the Huskies with four goals, two assists and 10 points through the first seven games.
The Huskies begin CAA play tomorrow in Philadelphia as they take on Drexel at 4 p.m., and host Delaware Sept. 27 at Parsons Field in their first home CAA game of the year. They’ll also take on No. 2 ranked William & Mary Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. at Parsons Field.
