NU AICHIE places first in national competition
The Northeastern American Institute of Chemical Engineers (NU AICHE) placed first in the national ChemE Car competition in Nashville, Tenn. Sunday. At the competition, schools from across the country designed a car powered solely by chemical reactions, according to an e-mail from professor Emma Chory. This was the first time in the school’s history to take first place. The team beat out top engineering schools, including Cooper Union, Cornell, Carnegie Mellon and Texas A&M.’

Youth Empowerment Show on Saturday
The Human Services Senior Seminar Class will host the Youth Empowerment Show (Y.E.S!) Saturday, according to student organizer Jackie Bresnahan. The event will showcase artwork by youth and performances from Boston agencies such as the Renewal House, Tobin Center and Hyde Square Task Force. Members of the class will be collecting donations there to support the Boston Center for Youth and Families. The event will be from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Cabral Center. Open Mic tonight at Asian American Center

Forum on Tuesday about moving off campus
Off Campus Student Services will host ‘Should I Stay or Should I Go?’ to help students decide if they should move off campus. Students who have moved off campus will speak about their experiences. Knit-a-thon for the homeless Saturday afternoon
In the Sacred Space on second floor of Ell Hall, the Multi-Faith Student Connection is holding a knit-a-thon for the homeless. Starting at noon, students can join and knit, or donate new or gently used winter items to be donated to the Common Cathedral of the Boston Common.
