The Northeastern University men’s cross country team took 15th place Saturday at the 39th annual University of Albany Cross Country Invitational in New York.
Sophomore Tom Brown, led the Huskies and came in 56th place (26:18.5). Brown, fresh off his performance leading the pack two weeks ago at the New England Cross Country Championship (NECCC) in Franklin Park, was followed by middler T.J. Niles, who came in 74th place (26:35.3), Northeastern’s second best time.
The women’s cross country team took fifth place on Saturday, also in Albany, in the 5,000 meter. They were boosted by junior Erin Ballard, who finished 12th place, (18:17.5) and senior Emily Watson, who secured 16th place (18:21.0).
Watson and Ballard also led their team at the NECCC on October 8, coming in 47th and 59th place, respectively.
The men and women’s cross country teams square off again Saturday at the Colonial Athletic Association Championship in Wilmington, N.C.
