As an alumni of NU, I am deeply disturbed by the recent staff issues regarding the Health Center. The present management led by Roberta Berrien indicates staff have left because they don’t like the change.
The large numbers of staff turnover could not possibly be caused by change alone. The loss of permanent staff has to reflect poorly on the present management of the health center.
I am sure the quality of service also must have been affected. Northeastern is trying to become a top 100 ranked university.
Has anyone thought about the ramifications to the university if, because of the health center changes, a student is seriously harmed? How is staff being replaced? Are full-time doctors being hired? If the health center is staffed by part-time employees, how sure are we that students will receive proper diagnosis and follow-up care?
Can we have a top 100 university we can be proud of when we have a Health Center led by the present administration?
We need a thorough investigation by medical experts from outside this administration.
