St. Paddy’s Day Shenanigans

It’s another St. Patrick’s Day in Boston and everyone’s got party plans. Believe it or not, there’s plenty of stuff to do that’s not in a basement on Mission Hill. Yes, parties are fun, but if you want to get out and off campus, here are some suggestions.

The St. Patty’s Dashunt
This is a two-hour scavenger hunt with multiple parts for teams of 10 or more. Each team will take on several tasks, including a 100-item photo hunt, and Irish trivia hunt, the “Lucky Leprechaun Mystery Hunt,” the “Clover Coin Bonus Round,” an Irish treasure hunt, and a “video dash.” Prizes are T-shirts and everyone gets a CD with pictures and videos from the event. It costs $25 and starts at Faneuil Hall. Go to Cashunt.com for more information.

Dropkick Murphy’s March Mayhem
The Dropkick Murphy’s have been around Boston all week, and on Wednesday, McGreevy’s is “Dropkick Headquarters.” There will be ticket giveaways before their show at the House of Blues, and after the show, the band will be hanging out at the bar. McGreevy’s is located at 911 Boylston St. Go to Mcgreevysboston.com for more information.

The Boondock Saints St. Patrick’s Day Party
The Paradise Rock Cub is celebrating the 10th anniversary of “The Boondock Saints” with the cast, including Norman Reedus, David Della Rocco, Bob Marley, Daniel DeSanto and writer/director Troy Duffy. There will be music performances by Ty Stone and The Truth, The Dirges, and Taylor and Troy Duffy; and comedy from Bob Marley. The event is 18+, doors open at 6 p.m. and tickets cost $20. Go to Thedise.com for more information.

St. Patrick’s Day Blowout
The Middle East Upstairs will be host to the Swaggerin’ Growlers, F Bombers, Faulty Conscience, Old Edison, and Time And Place. The show is 18+ and doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Go to Mideastclub.com for more information.

Celtics vs. Knicks
Whether you’re a fan or not, Celtics games are fun. Grab some cheap tickets, pull on a green shirt and cheer on the most Irish team in the NBA. Even if you don’t like basketball, you can watch Lucky the leprechaun mascot do front flip slam dunks or the Celtics dancers shake their butts in some seriously tiny outfits. The game starts at 7:30 p.m. and ticket prices vary. Go to Nba.com/celtics/ for more information.

Calling All Pats!
Burtons Grill is offering a free appetizer to anyone with “Pat” in their name. And it’s not just Patricks and Patricias, it’s any name with the letters P, A and T anywhere in it. It goes from 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and bring an I.D., because you’ll need to prove you qualify. Go to Burtonsgrill.com for more information.
