Despite a quick exit from the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) tournament, a few of the Huskies were able to bring home some hardware.

Junior ace Adam Ottavino was named first-team All-CAA at the awards banquet prior to the tournament. The former America East Pitcher of the Year went 4-2 with a 2.72 ERA in the regular season. He threw the ninth no-hitter in school history against James Madison April 7, striking out a then-career-high 14 batters. On April 21, he bested that with 16 strikeouts, allowing two hits in eight shutout innings against William ‘ Mary. He had double-digit strikeouts in four of his 10 starts this season.

“You don’t set out to win those awards; you just want to contribute to your team,” Ottavino said. “As a competitor, of course, you want to be better than everyone else. And they put a smile on your face.”

Freshman Mike Tamsin was Northeastern’s leading hitter with a .355 average and a 17-game hit streak earlier this season. Tamsin was named second team All-CAA and to the All-Rookie Team. The designated hitter led the team with a .442 on-base percentage, reaching safely in 43 of the team’s 48 games this season.

Ottavino and Tamsin were both named to the All-New England team, along with teammate Chris Emanuele. All three received Division I First Team honors. Northeastern had the most players of any school named to the first team.

Emanuele hit .313 with a team-leading nine home runs and 35 RBI in his senior season. The center fielder leaves the team with the Northeastern career hits record (227).
