Photographer Stella Johnson spoke yesterday about her travels to Mexico and Africa, where she photographed the daily life and rituals of rural families, as the second part in the Visiting Artist lecture series.
Johnson showed students 46 of her photos from her upcoming book “Dancing with Turkeys,” which is set for publication next year. The photos document her interaction with families living near Guanajuato and Oaxaca, Mexico, the Miskito and Garifuna Cultures on the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua and with indigenous cultures in Cameroon.
