The average college student may be the last surviving relative of a Nigerian millionaire, have missed a jury duty date or be the owner of an at-risk bank account – at least according to the most popular identity fraud scams.
In a SAFENet alert titled, “Don’t let Phishing, Frauds and Scams Ruin Your Day,” distributed Friday on the myNEU portal, the Department of Public Safety and the office of Information Security and Identity Services sought to inform students of the dangers lurking in e-mail inboxes.
