A Northeastern student was robbed at knifepoint near the Boston campus on Friday afternoon, according to an email from the Northeastern University Police Department, or NUPD.

The student sustained minor injuries and had their camera stolen. The robbery occurred in the area of Tavern Road and Ruggles Street, according to a second email from NUPD.

The email stated that the Boston Police Department has reported a number of similar incidents in the area. NUPD will be increasing patrols on campus in response to these robberies.

NUPD also advised that students remain aware of their surroundings, avoid walking alone and to make use of the SafeZone mobile app.
