BRC revokes funds for Project PACT concert

Northeastern’s chapters of the Sigma Delta Tau (SDT) sorority and Alpha Delta Phi (ADP) fraternity will have to find alternate funding for their second Project PACT Benefit Concert, after the Budget Review Committee (BRC) revoked funding for the event at their meeting last night.

SDT and ADP had planned a concert for Saturday, Nov. 3 at Boston Billiards to benefit Project PACT (Preventing the Abuse of Children Together) and Prevent Child Abuse America. The event was to consist of a pool tournament for 18-plus students, followed by a concert for 21-plus students. There was hesitation about the funding because most of the allocated $3,240 was going toward the concert and the age restriction would prevent many students from attending this part of the evening.

Rob Ranley, chair of BRC, said the BRC originally agreed to fund it because the event benefited a good cause and would be fun for students.
