Tuesday, October 15

Midnight

An RA in White Hall reported the smell of marijuana. Three male students, one 18-year-old, and two 17-year-olds, along with their 18-year-old male guest were found in the room. A small plastic bag of marijuana, a bong, other marijuana paraphernalia, loose pills of ecstasy, and alcoholic beverages were all confiscated. The students admitted to smoking marijuana and will be referred to the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution (OSCCR).

Wednesday, October 16

4:30 p.m.

A visitor of Dodge Hall reported her wallet missing from an unattended third floor classroom. It contained $11, and several credit cards.

11:30 p.m.

A male and female student, both 19-year-olds, walked from Columbus Avenue to a store on Huntington Avenue, and on their return a man, who had been following them the whole way, came out from behind them and demanded money. The students refused. The man then punched the male student, who still refused. The three people then dispersed.

Thursday, October 17

1 p.m.

A woman visiting for the Head of the Charles race, was utilizing NU’s boathouse, and left her backpack on the dock. It was gone when she returned. It contained $80, credit cards, and clothes.

2 p.m.

The manager at Wollaston’s in the Marino Center reported a shoplifter. A 19-year-old male student had attempted to steal $6 worth of health and beauty aides. The manager did not want him arrested.

4:15 p.m.

A 19-year-old male student reported his wallet missing from his locker in the Marino Center. It contained $200, credit cards, and a driver’s license. There was no sign of forced entry. He may have forgotten to lock the locker.

7 p.m.

A female student reported her cellphone missing after she left it after a class in a classroom in Dodge Hall .

8 p.m.

A man visiting for the Head of the Charles race, was utilizing NU’s boathouse. He left his wallet in a pile of clothes in the downstairs area. When he returned from upstairs, his wallet was gone. It contained several credit cards, a drivers license, and $100.

Saturday, October 19

12:30 a.m.

A male student returned to his room in Stetson East to find his roommate passed out, with vomit all over himself. He was non-responsive. The roommate was taken to the hospital. The 18-year-old student admitted that the two had been drinking earlier, but he left, upon his return is when he found his roommate. Both students will be referred to OSCCR.

12:45 a.m.

Officers were called to a fourth floor apartment at 122 St. Stephen St. where an RA reported a loud party. About 40 cans of beer and some rum were confiscated. A 19-year-old male and a 20-year-old male, both residents, admitted that they bought the alcohol and but were not carded. The residents, three 19-year-old male and one19-year-old female guest will all be referred to OSCCR.

6:30 p.m.

An officer observed a 22-year-old female student walk out of a liquor store on Huntington Avenue with two thirty packs. She then handed one case of beer to a female student and the other to a male student. Upon questioning, the student who bought the alcohol said she was on her way to a hockey game, in the opposite direction. The two younger students claimed to be carrying the alcohol for her. The alcohol was confiscated, and the three students will be referred to OSCCR.

11:30 p.m.

An RA in Light Hall reported the odor of marijuana on the third floor. An 18-year-old female student resident, and her 23-year-old visiting sister admitted to smoking the drug, and turned over the remnants of a joint. The student will be referred to OSCCR.

Sunday, October 20

12:30 a.m. *****ENTRY OF THE WEEK SUGGESTION*****

Officers were called to a party on the fourth floor of Davenport B. Residents refused to let both the officers and the RA into the room. While talking with officers in the hallway the residents admitted to drinking from a beer ball, but claimed that it was gone. Officers told the residents to tell party goers to leave. Residents then dispersed the crowd, and upon leaving the apartment officers received the identification of each person. Party goers were also questioned while leaving. Through questioning it was determined that there was alcohol in the apartment. The students will be referred to OSCCR.

1:30 a.m.

A CR at Stetson West reported a fight outside. Once officers arrived the fighting ceased, but there were people engaged in heated conversation, and several people loitering in the area. Two males were very uncooperative with officers. Of the two, Nikolas Pavlou, a 20-year-old resident of Speare Hall, was questioned by one officer. He began to be very disorderly and would not leave the area. He was then arrested for disorderly conduct. The other male, Nicholas Bougadis, a guest on campus, was questioned at the same time by a different officer away from the other student. He was also very disorderly and was arrested, after he refused to leave, for trespassing and disorderly conduct. Both men verbally threatened officers, shouted obscenities in Greek and appeared to be intoxicated. The student will be referred to OSCCR.

2:30 a.m.

An RA in Stetson West reported the smell of marijuana on the second floor. Several beers, and a marijuana pipe were confiscated. Two 18-year-old male students were in the room, one of them admitted that the alcohol was purchased and brought to the room by his step brother.

Two officers at different locations on Huntington Avenue witnessed a group of people on the corner of Forsyth Street and Huntington Avenue. A man then crossed the street to where the group was, took an expandable baton out of his pocket and hit another man over the head with it. The man was not seriously injured. Jarred Leikauskas, 25 of South Boston, was arrested for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. No one involved had any connection to NU.

3 a.m.

A caller reported an intoxicated man passed out on St. Stephen Street. He was conscious when officers arrived. EMTs instructed him to go on his way. He was not transported to the hospital. The 20-year-old male student admitted to drinking seven beers earlier in the night. He will be referred to OSCCR.

3:45 a.m.

Two 19-year-old male students reported that after walking from behind the Egan Center, across the footbridge by the Snell Library, and into Columbus Lot two men that had been behind them began to punch them repeatedly. One of the students ran back to the security guard on the footbridge to get help. Upon his return the assailants were gone.

8 a.m.

A broken office window was reported on the first floor of the Mugar Life Sciences Building. Officers found the office in disarray. It appeared as though a container of petty cash and a laptop was taken. This matter is still under investigation.

7 p.m.

An RA in Stetson West reported vandalism on the third floor. Toilet paper and paper towel dispensers had been ripped from the wall.

Monday, October 21

9 a.m.

An officer saw a car driving the wrong way on Leon Street. The officer motioned for the car to pull over. Once the driver rolled down his window the officer noticed the strong odor of marijuana. The driver, a 20-year-old male believed to be a student at Tufts, first said he was smoking a regular cigarette, then admitted to smoking the drug along with his passenger, a 20-year-old male student at NU. The two turned over a small vial of marijuana. The student will be referred to OSCCR, and the other man’s school will be contacted.

2:30 p.m.

A female student reported that after returning to her apartment she noticed that someone had broken in through a window near the fire escape. She reported her computer missing, and it appeared as though someone used her laundry bag to carry it out. After officers questioned neighbors, it was found that there were several people knocking on doors that morning, and descriptions of those people are known. This matter is still under investigation.

3:30 p.m.

A 26-year-old male student reported the power adapter to his laptop computer missing after eating lunch in the Churchill cafeteria.

10:45 p.m.

A CR in West Campus E reported that a man had gone into the building while people were coming out, and did not show ID. Upon the arrival of officers the same person was exiting the building and was identified by the CR. The 23-year-old man was very evasive, would not give his name and claimed that he did not know his Social Security number. After asking several times for ID officers arrested Karim Evans for trespassing as he also refused to tell the reason behind his presence. The man did have a student ID in his wallet. Because of computer system problems over the weekend it is unknown if he is a current student, although he denied it.

11 p.m.

An RA in Speare Hall reported the odor of marijuana. Officers found four 18-year-old male students in a room on the first floor, and confiscated a small amount of the drug and marijuana paraphernalia.

3 a.m.

A student reported that while walking down Columbus Avenue he saw three or four people come out of Davenport Commons, walk down the sidewalk, pickup a motorcycle, and flip it over causing extensive damage. Officers responded and found a group of intoxicated people in Columbus Lot. The student identified two of the men, a third stepped forward and admitted to the vandalism, and a fourth confirmed their story but denied involvement. Chris Courtney 20, Matthew Johnston 20, and Christian Martini 20 were all arrested on charges of malicious destruction of private property. All three admitted they were intoxicated, but would not confirm where they came from. Johnston also had a bottle of rum in his backpack, he claimed he had a homeless man buy for him, and also had in his possession someone else’s identification, which he claimed he was holding for a friend.
