New play, dance production addresses AIDS through movement and words

“The Baltimore Waltz” danced its way into the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) Theater on Thursday, Nov. 7. This play, created by Paula Vogel, is being preformed by a new Boston theater company, the Animus Ensemble. This is the second production of Paula Vogel’s play, “The Baltimore Waltz,” which takes you through one woman’s method of dealing with her brother’s death due to AIDS.

When greeted with the very small stage and holding only three white screens on wheels, it is difficult to surmise what the audience will soon experience. “The Baltimore Waltz” chronicales the dark comedic journey of a brother and sister (Anna and Carl) throughout Europe.
