Both the men’s and women’s track teams finished the indoor portion of their seasons during the weekend, competing in a pair of different tournaments.
The men competed at the IC4A Championship at Boston University Saturday. With a time of 7.80 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles, junior sprinter/hurdler Cord Parks earned a 20th place finish, tops among Northeastern participants at the event.
Also placing was senior thrower Ed Reardon, who took 23rd with his 50-feet 6.75 throw in the weight throw. The only other participant for the Huskies in the event was sophomore vaulter/thrower Jordan Thrull, who competed in the pole vault but failed to reach the minimum height of 15-feet 5-inches.
Junior hurdler Katherine Sherman brought NU a fourth place finish in the pentathlon at the ECAC Championship at the Reggie Lewis Center Friday.
Her score of 3,643 was comprised of a fifth place 8.87 second time in the 60-meter hurdles, a second place 1.68 meter jump in the high jump, a seventh place 9.21 meter throw in the shot put, a fifth place 5.09 meter jump in the long jump and a first place 2:20.67 time in the 800 meter run.
Senior hurdler/jumper Tramaine Shaw also competed in four events, finishing as high as second with a 8.68 second time in the 60-meter hurdles.
The outdoor part of the track and field season will begin Friday at the Seahawk Invitational at UNC Wilmington, which runs Friday and Saturday.
