Three years ago, I met Rob Ranley as he rushed the Kappa Sigma fraternity in the spring of his freshman year. As the year came to a close, I knew that he would be a leader not only in our chapter, but a giant presence on Northeastern’s campus. That same year, Rob also joined Student Government, and over the next three years he made a giant impact on both organizations.
Rob has a history of providing results to the university community. He joined the Budget Review Committee as a freshman, and this past year he has worked with student groups as the chair to fund more than $2.4 million of student programming. The process this year is streamlined under Rob’s leadership and students across campus will attest to the improvements he implemented. In addition, his work on the University Budget Committee has led to an increase in funding for new summer course offerings, free laundry and extended library hours for next year, just to name a few.
Rob is the definition of a great Northeastern student. He has dedicated his time to advancing student life on campus, all while excelling in classes and completing two co-ops at large financial services companies. Since I have known him, Rob has always gone above and beyond expectations thanks to his diligence and commitment to the university and the groups he leads. Above all else, Rob is a normal guy and a great friend who is always there to lend a hand.
As a senior graduating in a few weeks, I am positive that electing Rob Ranley for student body president is this school’s ticket to success next year. Please take a few minutes next week to place your vote for Rob on myNEU.
