Northeastern running back Tim Gale has been selected as the Northeastern News Player of the Week. Gale’s 219 rushing yards Saturday was a career high, while his five touchdowns set a Northeastern record for most touchdowns in a single game. The old record of four was set by Gary Benoint in 1982. Gale’s effort led the team to its ninth win of the season, a feat never before accomplished by a Husky football squad. After sitting out all of the 2001 season following knee surgery, Gale has culminated his comeback with three straight 100-yard efforts, and back-to-back three touchdown performances. He was also named the Atlantic-Ten Offensive Player of the Week as a result of his effort. – Jack Weiland
